IMAS Guild celebrates fifty years of support

The Guild, founded in 1970 by the McAllen Junior Service League, is on a roll! After many successful years of raising funds for museum programs and facility improvements, this group of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers celebrates fifty years of service to the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas via the museum.

The IMAS Guild has provided the museum with hundreds of volunteers and raised thousands of dollars for museum programs such as the popular Science On a Sphere, state of the art acoustic system and a splendid grand piano.

Recently the IMAS Guild raised funds with the Guild’s 2nd Annual Superhero Run, held on November 9, 2019, and is supporting the museum’s online auction that kicks off on IMAS Day of Giving on October 7, 2020.

MORE STORIES OF SUPPORT

IMAS pivots annual festival fundraiser into virtual Brew-seum@Home reaching thousands of supporters.

Keeping the spirit of its biggest and most-anticipated fundraising event alive in 2020, the IMAS shifted the traditional Brew-seum event to an online platform in order to raise the much-needed funding which enables the IMAS to continue to bring cultural and educational resources to the communities in the RGV.

This year’s first-of-its-kind virtual fundraiser at IMAS was by all accounts a huge achievement. The event increased online engagement for the museum by over 4,000 online users during the same time as last year and raised 40% of the funding of the previous year’s on-site event!
